The clarete rosé 2022 Tres Navíos Clarete was produced with grapes from the village of Cubillas de Santa Marta in the limits of the appellation Cigales, famous for its rosé wines. But this wine, like all of the others, is sold with the appellation Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León. It was produced with a field blend from an old vineyard planted with Tempranillo and different white varieties (Verdejo, Clairet, Albillo, Palomino and Viura) and Tempranillo from a different, younger 20-year-old plot. It's 60% Tempranillo and the rest white, from the direct pressing of the clusters and fermentation and aging in a 1,500-liter oak foudre. It has a blurry nose that isn't 100% clean, a bit appley (browning apples), with some oxidative notes, a bit too open. It has 13.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.15, meaning freshness; the palate is better, where the texture and freshness are right but the flavors bring back the sensations from the nose. But it didn't conquer me, and made me hesitate. 1,900 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2023.
