2019 / 93 puntos
The smoky, flinty and slightly reductive nose of the 2019 Peixe da Estrada makes it quite distinct. It comes from old vines outside the limit of all the appellations of origin, in the village of Viana do Bolo at 650 to 750 meters in altitude. This colder zone has some of the highest vineyards in Galicia, and this is a blend of different vineyards, so their village red. This is 13.3% alcohol, a little higher than most of their wines, but the wine does not show it. It's juicy and round, with red berry, herb and spice and a tender mouthfeel. 6,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2021.
