2022 / 93 puntos
The second vintage of the white is quite different, as they found white grapes in Ledaña, where the winery is, and the 2022 Aurora is a blend of 70% Marisancho, or Pardillo, from a very old vineyard, 20% Albilla and 10% Tortosí. The grapes were picked in September; the cycle of Marisancho is longer and the soils are whiter, stonier and with more gravel, and the grapes ripened slowly and fully. The full clusters were pressed, then fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel (including malolactic), and the wine matured in a 2,500-liter oak foudre, tinajas and concrete eggs. This wine keeps the low-alcohol profile and has even more freshness, and it's very sapid, with more character, more Mediterranean, tastier and with a more saline feeling in the finish. In 2023, they didn't use any Albilla in the white wine, and it was replaced by Macabeo. 6,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2023.
