Rojo picota madura, limpio y brillante.
Intensidad media, recuerdos a frutos negros.
Equilibrado, denso. Largo.
2018 / 93 puntos
The 2018 Malleolus showed very well. It's a juicy, ripe and generous old-vine Tempranillo fermented with their own strain of yeasts and matured in French oak barrels. It showcases the house style—ripe and, in this case, with neatly integrated but generous oak. The palate is medium to full-bodied, and the tannins are fine. There is good freshness in 2018. It was bottled in May 2020.
2015 > 91-92 puntos
2014 > 93 puntos
The 2014 Malleolus is sourced from vines ranging between 25 and 75 years of age, fermented in stainless steel vats with their own selected yeasts, followed by an élevage of 18 months in used French oak barriques. This is just bottled, yet the wine feels very harmonious, and in 2014 it seems to combine power with good freshness. It's a good expression of the Emilio Moro style, generous wines that are generously oaked and hedonistic, lush and ripe, nicely balanced by the character of the year. This has to be one of the finest Malleolus vintages so far. 60,000 bottles produced.
