The red 2020 Los Peros Garnacha comes from an 80-year-old vineyard in the Andrinoso zone of San Martín de Valdeiglesias, at 850 meters in altitude on granite soils. The slow and cooler year delivered a wine with 15.5% alcohol but with a low pH of 3.3. It fermented with full clusters and had a two-month maceration in plastic bins and matured in neutral 500-liter French oak barrels for 12 months. It has a nose of wild berries, herbs and wet granite, a medium to full-bodied palate with fine-grained tannins and a very tasty finish. 1,300 bottles were filled in November 2021. - Spain: Gredos Keeps on Moving, May 31, 2023

The red 2019 Los Peros Garnacha comes from an 80-year-old vineyard in the Andrinoso zone of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. 2019 was a very dry and moderate vintage with some rain during harvest, and the wine has ripeness but disguised alcohol and great freshness. It fermented with full clusters and had a two-month maceration in plastic bins, then it matured in neutral 500-liter French oak barrels for one year. It feels fresher than the 2019 Fuente de los Huertos that I tasted next to it. This is very aromatic, floral and fresh, terribly balanced and nuanced, with vibrant minerality, a beautiful texture and a supple, almost salty finish. This seems better than previous vintages, finer and narrower. 1,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2021. - November 2021 Week 2, The Wine Advocate -
