2021 > 95 puntos
The 2021 La Mira was produced with grapes from three small old vineyards in the zone of El Galayo in Cebreros at 950 meters in altitude on slate and quartz soils. It fermented with 15% full clusters in concrete and matured in a 3,000-liter oak vat for 14 months, including malolactic. It feels very young, initially closed and in need of some air. The slate soils seem to deliver more polished tannins and a sleeker texture. This is the youngest of the single-vineyard bottlings (it's “only” 40 years old), so it yields well, and the wines are fine-boned and balanced, with good freshness. But there is a sense of freshness and purity that is common through the 2021 reds too. 4,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2022. - May 31, 2023 / Luis Gutiérrez -
