The 2022 Doña Blanca fermented in used barriques (for the first year, they were new), and the wine is varietal and saline, with purity but still a tittle marked by the élevage in barrel for two winters. It comes from deeper soils with more clay in Villafranca del Bierzo (from the paraje or lieu-dit of Las Gundiñas), and those soils cushioned the effect of the heat and made the salinity emerge in an even more evident way. It's tasty and makes you salivate with that effervescent minerality. It has moderate ripeness and alcohol (12.5%), keeping very good acidity (6.5) and a pH of 3.5 after going through full malolactic. Super tasty. 1,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2024.
