2018 > 93 puntos
The red blend 2018 12 Volts is 60% Callet and Fogoneu, 20% Syrah and 10% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wines tend to have moderate alcohol—this is 12%—but are expressive of the varieties, place and vintage. This fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeast and matured in a 3,000-liter oak foudre and used 225-liter French oak barrels for nine months. This is a little darker and shows marginally riper than the other reds, perhaps because of the French grapes. All relatively speaking, obviously, as the palate is quite light, medium-bodied, very tasty, nothing too ripe about it, juicy and with very fine tannins and a fine texture. There are no herbal notes at all, and the oak is perfectly integrated. The style has changed from the 2013 vintage toward a lighter wine that is easier to drink. This has to be the finest vintage to date. 45,000 bottles and 300 magnums produced. It was bottled in July 2019.
